Dear St. Gerard Parish Community:
OK, how many of you honestly thought we would get through the whole Fallfest weekend without any rain? We don't know about you, but we probably never looked at the skies and the radar as much we did this weekend! I think we both spent most of 4 PM Mass praying for good weather. All of those Indian rain dances (and everyone's prayers!) must have worked!
Fallfest truly "takes a village" to succeed. Our community is an awesome and wonderful thing to watch as the actual event unfolds for four long days from Thursday night Silent Auction set up to Sunday night clean up. We have over 700 volunteer positions (which DO NOT include the teams) that need to be filled each year to work the games, food and all areas of Fallfest you too need to be appreciated for stepping up and helping out when needed! We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful community.
Thank you to the entire 5k fun run, Operations, Fundraising, Games, Rides, Entertainment, Concessions, Hospitality and Silent Auction teams for to all of your tireless dedication to making this Fallfest 2008 successful! Thank you for the Parish office staff who answer question after question put late announcements in the bulletin and answer the 1,000 of phone calls and odd request they get during Fallfest season!
The Fallfest responsibility is now being turned over to our new leaders and next years Chairs, John and Diane Reinhardt. Thank you both for taking over this task of leading us. We had fun working with you--and will continue the process as you go on your journey. We look forward to helping you any way we can (within reason) for Fallfest 2009.
Peace to all of you,
Steve and Katie Mabry
